S1 · Diagnostic

The honest first step,
before any roadmap.

A focused two-to-three week diagnostic across six dimensions of AI maturity. The output is a board-ready picture of where your organisation actually stands, what to fix first, and what good looks like for an organisation in your sector.

Engagement summary

What we deliver, and why.

The AI Readiness Assessment is the engagement we recommend when an executive team needs an honest baseline before committing to any larger programme of work. Across two to three weeks we examine your strategy, governance, data, technology, people, and risk posture against a structured maturity model, and produce a board-ready report with prioritised recommendations. It is the most cost-effective way to find out where you are, and the cheapest insurance against starting in the wrong place.

The phases

How we run this engagement.

  1. Initiate & scope

Kick-off with executive sponsor, confirm scope, schedule interviews, and request initial documentation. We work from your reality, not a generic checklist.

  2. Discover

Structured interviews and document review across six maturity dimensions. We talk to executives, risk, technology, data, and selected business stakeholders.

  3. Assess & analyse

Score each dimension against the Optivity maturity model. Identify exposure, capability gaps, and quick wins. Compare to peer-sector benchmarks.

  4. Report & present

Produce the assessment report and a board-ready presentation. Walk executives through findings, prioritised recommendations, and a recommended next-step engagement (which may not be Optivity).

Frequently asked

Answers to the questions we get most.

A workshop produces opinions. An assessment produces evidence. We score your maturity against a structured model, document the inputs, and leave you with artefacts that hold up under audit-committee questioning.
No. About a third of our assessment outputs recommend a different next step than buying more from us. Our job is to be useful, not to manufacture demand.
Roughly six to ten interview hours across the leadership team, plus a two-hour findings presentation. Most clients find the interview process itself surfaces useful internal alignment.
Yes. The report and exposure register are designed to be tabled at board or audit committee level. We can attend the meeting if useful.
